Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger points are local contractions in a small number of muscle fibres in a larger muscle. These can pull on tendons and ligaments attached to muscles and can cause pain and weakness deep within joints. This can cause tenderness or twitching in a muscle and be a precursor to muscle spasms.

Kinesiology tape is used for treating athletic injuries and a variety of physical disorders. Taping can benefit a wide variety of musculoskeletal imbalances plus inflammatory conditions. This accelerates recovery time so you can get back to your daily routine. Some Rigid tapes can be used for immobilizing joints and offer a very high level of support for sports injuries. Myofascial Manipulation is a specialised manual therapy used for the treatment of fascial tension and restrictions to restore balance and function to an area. We can use a combination of stretching, Cupping or tool-assisted therapy to break down adhesions and to “lubricate’ an area so that the muscles can glide easier with the fascia.

TuiNa (Pronounced twee-nah) is linked to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TuiNa Helps balance the Yin & Yang in the body though therapeutic massage, by manipulating the Qi** (Pronounced Chi) in the meridian channels the same as acupuncture channels 

When these are points stimulated they release tension, increase circulation and improve the body’s healing.

More commonly called “Compression Boots” apply pressure to your legs. They complement our Sports Treatments/Pain Management as they help with; Soreness and fatigue, helps increase blood circulation in the lower legs, ankles and feet, Help remove all of the waste and toxins,including lactic acid that build up during training and flush fresh nutrient rich blood straight back into your tired muscles. 
It can help with swelling caused by conditions associated with poor circulation, such as chronic venous insufficiency and varicose veins.

It is particularly useful for the treatment of lymphoedema and swelling that is often seen in response to cancer treatments such as radiotherapy. It’s specialized pumping technique can be used to prevent or treat lymphoedema and improve lymph drainage.

Sports Remedial Therapy is the skilled application of a wide range of therapeutic techniques to treat, recognise, prevent and treat sports-related injuries and to help support the client to maintain and improve fitness. The therapist may also use techniques to assist a client with injuries or trauma sustained both in sport and non-sports situations such as at home or at work.
